Agra City is a wonderful city in India, which is rich in history and marvelous monuments. It was known as a residence of one of the most renowned wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal. Agra is a place on the banks of river Yamuna in western Uttar Pradesh, which was once a strong city during the Mughal rule. Sikandar Lodi established the modern city, however, it flowered into greatness under Emperor Shah Jahan. Even in ancient times, Agra was referred to as 'Agravana', which meant paradise in Sanskrit.
